As a child, my brothers and I experienced many examples of racism. A lot of times, these situations led to people wanting to inflict bodily harm on us. And more times than not, we were extremely out-numbered. I remember having to fight our way to school, fight our way to the store, and fight our way home. I recall many situations, where you fought long enough to defend yourself, then made a mad dash to safety. For this piece of music, I put myself in the mindset of one of those days and began to compose.
